Letter from the Board

Dear Gardener,

We're so glad you'll be gardening with us the upcoming 2019 season.  This garden is run by the community, for the community--and you are part of it.  If you haven't contacted us about joining the garden, please contact the Registars to get you started on the process, which begins with attending an Orientation.  Parker and Jan are the Registars for 2019.

Scheduled Orientations for new gardeners can be found on our Calendar.  (Please bookmark this page, as it also holds dates for Group Work Share, Board Meetings, Potlucks, Special Projects, dates for collecting excess produce and more.)  The purpose of Orientation is similar to any other orientation.  We'll go over everything from the layout of the garden, where to find things,  what we do and don't allow as an organic garden, common area maintenance to where the toilets are located and who to reach if you need help, support or questions for any reason.  Aside from that, you'll have the pleasure of meeting your fellow gardeners.

A few things to underline as the year begins:

Every new gardener must attend an orientation prior to plot rental.

If you'd like a copy of the Gardener Handbook, you can download it here.  This is the material we'll cover in your orientation.  Ideally, you would read this Handbook prior to Orientation.

Once you've completed Orientation, we'll visit the garden so you can pick your new plot.  After you've done both, come back to the SSCG website to Register.   Then drop a check in the mail for your plot fee to:
